Two-Month Digital Nomad Adventure in Encinitas, California
After falling in love with Brazil’s coastlines, mountains, and palm trees 🌴, I wanted to capture that same vibe here in the U.S. So, I decided to spend two months in Encinitas, California with Outsite.
For those unfamiliar, Outsite is a network of accommodations tailored for remote workers and digital nomads, offering co-living spaces designed for work-life balance.
Outsite’s Encinitas location quickly became one of my favorite spots, and the house itself—with its floor-to-ceiling glass windows overlooking Neptune Avenue and the Pacific Ocean—was a dream come true.
The group we had in Encinitas made it an incredible experience. We explored California’s surf culture, took road trips, and made the most of summer in Southern California as I worked on building a new HubSpot app from our amazing house.
Where I Stayed
I stayed at Outsite Encinitas, which has since become my top Outsite location. The house is set right on Neptune Avenue with sweeping views of the Pacific, and the setup was perfect for a mix of work and relaxation.
The glass-enclosed workspace on the second floor offered an inspiring environment where I could dive into my projects with California’s coastline in the background. It was a place where productivity came naturally, thanks to both the space and the fantastic community of nomads sharing the house.
What I Did
Embracing the California Surf Culture
Encinitas has a laid-back surf culture that made it easy to settle in. Though I didn’t pick up surfing myself, I spent plenty of time at the beaches and watched the locals catch waves. From early morning beach walks to laid-back afternoons, California’s coastal lifestyle was in full effect.
Exploring SoCal’s Trails and Landmarks
Encinitas is a great base for exploring Southern California. I went on hikes up to the Hollywood Sign, took road trips along the coast, and explored some cool hotels in downtown Los Angeles. California’s natural beauty combined with city life kept things fresh and offered endless inspiration.
Fourth of July Celebration on a Mountain
One of the highlights was celebrating the Fourth of July on top of a mountain overlooking Los Angeles. From that vantage point, I watched fireworks lighting up the city across every neighborhood—a once-in-a-lifetime view that was unforgettable.
Building My HubSpot App with a View
With all the exploration and fun, I was still working on a major project: building a HubSpot app. Having the workspace with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the ocean provided the perfect setting to get creative and stay motivated. It was a unique experience to code with such a view, making work feel less like work.
Conclusion
My time in Encinitas was a perfect mix of productivity, exploration, and coastal living. Between the incredible group at Outsite Encinitas and California’s unbeatable vibes, Encinitas became more than just a place to work—it was a glimpse into a lifestyle I could imagine living long-term. If you’re looking for a digital nomad experience that combines work, nature, and a tight-knit community, Encinitas should definitely be on your list.
