Beachside Work-Life Balance in San José del Cabo, Mexico

main-Oct-24-2024-05-13-20-5116-PM

While much of the world was on lockdown, I found myself in San José del Cabo, Mexico 🇲🇽, staying with Outsite.

This spot was perfect for balancing remote work with exploring Cabo’s incredible landscapes and culture. Outsite’s digital nomad community made it easy to meet like-minded travelers, and I quickly felt at home in the area.

Where I Stayed

The Outsite San José del Cabo house was a fantastic base, with a mix of creative nomads and inspiring spaces. We even had a coworking space dog, which brought the community vibe up a notch! Our location was close to everything I needed, from the beach to vibrant local spots, making it ideal for both work and play.

What I Did

Exploring the Event Scene at Hotel El Ganzo

One of my favorite discoveries was Hotel El Ganzo, a local venue known for its eclectic mix of music, art, and community events. From techno nights to art exhibitions, the hotel offered an energetic scene, bringing together locals and visitors for a unique cultural experience in Cabo.

Desert Hikes and Natural Waterslides

Cabo’s landscapes are nothing short of epic, and I went on some incredible desert hikes with natural waterslides along the way. These desert trails offered breathtaking views and were like a hidden oasis in the rugged terrain—a highlight of my time here.

Enjoying San José del Cabo’s Local Art Scene

San José del Cabo has a thriving art scene with galleries and exhibitions scattered around town. Walking through these vibrant spaces was a perfect way to soak up local culture and discover incredible artwork from the area’s talented artists.

The Epic Arch Hike in Cabo San Lucas

Of course, I couldn’t miss the famous Arch of Cabo San Lucas. The hike itself was stunning, with dramatic coastal views, and our tour guide was fantastic. The arch, a natural rock formation at the southern tip of the Baja Peninsula, is iconic, and seeing it up close was an unforgettable experience.

Horseback Riding on the Beach

There’s something surreal about riding horses along the beach at sunset. I joined a few rides on the sandy shores, enjoying the ocean breeze and stunning coastal views, which added to the magic of my time here.

Flora Farms: Cabo’s Farm-to-Table Oasis

One of the most unique spots I visited was Flora Farms. Located in San José del Cabo, this farm-to-table destination is known for its organic produce, restaurant, and artisanal market. The food was incredible, and the rustic, natural setting made it feel like a hidden retreat.

What I Was Working On

While enjoying everything Cabo had to offer, I was also working on a HubSpot integration project for an enterprise client. My goal was to connect a donor platform with HubSpot so that whenever a donation was made, it synced seamlessly with both systems, keeping donor data up to date across platforms. Working on this project from such an inspiring location made the development process feel fresh and exciting.

Conclusion

My two months in San José del Cabo offered a mix of community, nature, and culture, making it the perfect escape while the world was locked down. Between the amazing Outsite community, the local art and event scene, and breathtaking hikes, Cabo quickly became one of my favorite destinations. If you’re looking for a blend of beach, culture, and adventure, San José del Cabo is hard to beat.
